IN FIRE guitarist Bjorn Gelotte confirmed that the group’s next album has again been recorded with grammys-designated producer Howard Benson and Howardlong-time engineer Mike Plotnikoff.
jelly discussed the progress of the recording sessions for IN FIRE‘ fourteenth studio album while participating in an online video chat on “The metal tour of the year” Instagram March 14.
“We just recorded [our new album]in fact,” Bjorn said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). “We returned three days before coming [to Germany to start rehearsing for the currently ongoing U.K. tour]. We worked [in Los Angeles] with Howard Benson and his team. It’s really, really good, and it suits us perfectly. The weather – January in Sweden is not much fun, and January in Los Angeles is amazing.”
Ask if Benson has its own recording studio in California, jelly said: “He has a few [of studios], in fact. It’s like a house where he has a few rooms, it’s the studio. And that’s where we do all the guitars and basses and drums and stuff. But he does all the singing at home; he has his own studio set up there. So [IN FLAMES singer] Anders [Fridén records his vocal tracks] there, and I’m in the house with Mike Plotnikoff, working on riffs and stuff. Yeah, that’s awesome. This is the third disc that we [have done] with them, and it works really, really well for us.”
