John Legend Film Joins ‘Ain’t Too Proud’ Production Team

Good things come to those who wait. It’s the only thing I can think of when I read the news that twelve-time Grammy® Award-winning superstar John Legend and his partners Mike Jackson and Ty Stiklorious in Get Lifted Film Co. have joined the cast of production of the hit Broadway musical sensation “Ain’t Too Proud––The Life and Times of the Temptations”.

Is this COVID-19’s way of saying “I’m sorry for the mess I made”? The move follows Legend’s TV performance with the cast of “Ain’t Too Proud” on CBS’ Sunday night special, “Broadway’s Back!”

The production is currently in rehearsal and preparing to return to the Imperial Theater (249 West 45th Street) with a gala on Saturday, October 16.

The legend is all about him and he and Jackson are returning to Broadway after winning a Tony Award as producers of August Wilson’s “Jitney,” which received the 2017 award for Best Revival of a Play.
