‘Rust’ production company denies responsibility for Halyna Hutchins’ death

‘Rust’ Production Company, denies any responsibility for, the death of Halyna Hutchins. On October 21, 2021, Hutchins died after being hit by a bullet fired from a gun held by Alec Baldwin on the set of the movie “Rust” in New Mexico. The company says independent contractors, including gunsmith Hannah Gutierrez Reed, should be held accountable. The company asserted that Gutierrez Reed was “singlely responsible for all duties associated with the use of firearms and ammunition.”

The call follows an accusation from a New Mexico security agency that Rust Movie Productions was aware of a lack of security on the film’s set. Baldwin also deflected responsibility for Hutchins’ death. The man who was the film’s chief security officer told the entire gathering, “It’s a cold gun,” said Alec Baldwin, Chris Cuomo Podcast Interview.

Now why did he say that if he didn’t know and didn’t check? “The thing is, we’ve been told everything is cool and you can relax and we’re working with a repeat-safe weapon,” Alec Baldwin, Chris Cuomo Podcast Interview.

The actor also pointed to Gutierrez Reed and assistant director David Hall, as they both handled the gun before Hutchins was shot. Baldwin maintained that he was unaware the gun was loaded with live ammunition.
