Canadian prodco Saloon Media, owned by Blue Ant Media, has propelled Betty Orr to the rank of SVP of Production, alongside two new recruits to the production team.

Orr, who joined Saloon Media when it launched in 2013, has been promoted from head of production to a new expanded role, which will see her continue to work closely with director Michael Kot to lead all aspects of the Saloon production activity.

During her tenure with the company, Orr served as an executive producer on shows such as Canada’s Drag Race for Crave, Prime Video Ted Bundy: Falling in love with a killerand T+E paranormal hotel.

Prior to Saloon, Orr worked with eOne, Cineflix, White Pine Pictures, Decode Entertainment (DHX Media), Jim Henson Productions and CBC.

New hires include Pam McNair as production manager and Elizabeth St. Philip as lead producer. The two have worked with Saloon before, with McNair serving as producer on projects such as Canada’s Drag Race and Ted Bundy: Falling in love with a killer. McNair will report to Orr and, in his new role, will produce factual series for US and international markets.

St. Philip, who will report to Kot, meanwhile directed and produced the feature-length documentary 9/11 Children for Salon. Previously, she was a senior producer for CTV, where she covered national news for 20 years.

“Betty’s vision and expertise have been invaluable in developing Saloon’s business from the day our doors opened. We are excited to have her take on this expanded role as we continue to grow our production presence,” said Kot.

“Pam and Elizabeth are the best-in-class designers we’ve had the opportunity to work with on several projects over the past few years, and we’re extremely fortunate to now have them bring their talents to our full-time team.”
