Tulsa production company shoots podcast TV series in downtown Claremore

A Tulsa video production company spent two days filming episodes of a podcast TV series in Claremore this week. The whole production and sets created a lot of buzz among the locals.

City leaders familiar with the project say specific details can’t be released yet, but the series includes a well-known actor. Two episodes were filmed in different buildings on Claremore’s main street, including Dot’s Café and Sailor Antiques and Collectibles.

“They’re filming what’s supposed to happen in Los Angeles,” said Ashley May of the Claremore Area Chamber of Commerce. “Through the magic of the movies, they’re going to make snowy downtown Claremore look like California.”

May says the city was approached about the idea last month. She hopes the city will become a destination for other filmmakers.

The production generated a lot of interest from the people of Claremore. Leaders say it also gives an economic boost.

“There are people around the corner and everyone is looking outside in their windows,” May said. “It was fun to be a part of it.”

Brenda Reno runs the antique store that was used during the filming of one of the episodes.

“The crew would come in and they would fix this or that and they would pick up,” Reno said. “It’s always fun to see stuff like that in Claremore.”
